Trees on Saradha College Road being cut to facilitate four-laning works

Saw tenders in newspaper last week about the expansion of Gugai Main Road.

The Road from Thadagapatti to Gandhi Statue is being converted from 2 lanes to multi lanes (i.e. 4+ lanes) there are two tenders one from Thadagapatti to Gugai Paalam and another from G.Palam to Gandhi Statue.

Definetely the shoppers on this route will oppose and we will see still opposition and rally in the coming days. The success of implementing this will be in the hands of our local Minister. Their aim is before the elections this should be done.

another immediate expansion of road point is - the road connecting between peramanur and arisipalayam - It is very narrow - one cannot imagine at what speed the vehicles are crossing this point - one small pathway created in the median which is highly dangerous - the people especially students and old age persons are finds very difficult to cross the road to reach either side. So many accidents are happening every day - Construction of subway is the only solution - all will agree.

The expansion work of Gugai Main Road begins with survey works. Yesterday (29.9.10) the survey work started and it will be finished within a week and soon the expansion work will begin. The total cost alloted for this project is 4.4 crores.

Last month the tenders have released and now as per the news it is understood than someone has taken the tender and started the work.

The medians are not yet constructed though the expansion of road word
is completed from 3 roads point to Thiruvagoundanur by-pass.

The highmast fixed in Tiruvagoundanur by-pass roundana is not functioning.

The Salem corporation had started four roads expansion work between Kalpana Theater compound to Light House Shopping Complex(Little Flower Matriculation School compound). They are widening it by 4 meter, and the land between these location which they are expanding the road is belongs to State Highways Department and not the private owned.

Only this particular stretch is getting expanded right now.

Road medians will be laid at Sarada College Rd & Palappati to Jn Rd. and also bus bays provided at a cost of 1 crore!!- decided in the road safety committee meeting.

Very doubt about its implementations since already many suggestions and announcements made in this monthly meeting but a very few will be implemented. Even shifting of Bus stop in important Junctions not took place. Also the 1 crore indicated is very less, but it is possible with the private participation with their ad in the median.

Instead of concrete medians, corporation should go for such simple and strong medians which will not occupy much road space.

And also I am dreaming if Junction to Hasthampati to Palace theater via AVR bye-pass, Junction to Pallapati to Nethimedu via Thiruvagavandanoor bye-pass can have pedestrian walking path, bus bays.

I also agree the dreams of Arul about walking path ways.

First walking path ways should be provided immediately from Pallapatti to Junction and Junction to Hasthampatti point.

Will the Corporation do it. If it is done the City will be look very nice.
It can be used for morning walk also.

and between Salem Junction and Hastampatti Circle.
