Hey guys.. A wonderful news. 3G service has been just arrived to Salem. BSNL has displayed (though no official announcement yet) about the launch of 3G service in Salem. Just happened to see it when I visited BSNL customer care center today.

No private operators on this game as of now since the auction has just took place. But next to Chennai there is no city to offer 3G as of today. Awesome!

praveen i think Coimbatore and madurai got 3G long back.
Salem also i think they have officially launched last month along with Namakkal.

Is it? hmm. BSNL is always ahead in technology but the bad thing is they are not able to reach the people as private providers do.

Spoke with BSNL guys... Still they have not launched the 3G service in Salem and Namakkal due to some issues.
