Commercial & office buildings coming up in Salem

In this topic we can discuss about the new commercial buildings, shopping complex, apartments, office buildings etc.

I have come across some new buildings in and around Salem.

1) New 5+ storied Shopping Complex / Mall at Infant Jesus complex, Omalur Road.
2) 5+ storied building opposite to Gandhi Road Jn next to Gordhandas Mandapam - Don;t know whether it is residential or commercial
3) 2 Nos. Star Hotel building at Bangalore Bye-pass

I request members to add the list.

Last Sunday I saw the fully demolished Santhi Theatre. a 40+ year old theatre demolised without any press information.

Can anybody know what is the next plan since it is very near to BS and a prime area. Any idea?

One shopping complex on the apposite of Pranav Hospital (cornor) coming us fastly.

The shopping complext at Infant Jesus complex is nearing completion and the ground floor already occupied by Axis Bank.

Opposite to this the earlier ARRS PVPV building demolished and in the huge place some ground work is going on. Understand that the place to be utilised for Car Showroom/workshop propably for FIAT cars. If so it is mere waste of good place. The car show room can go to Byepass rather than in the heart of the city.

Sad... I though a good mini multiplex and few south indian/international food mall could come up there in that vacant place opp. to church... Now 4 roads does not have any high quality restaurant and theaters....!!

Yes Car show rooms, workshops should go to bye-pass! Already many are moving to Mamangam and beyond in Omalur side.

City roads should be for shopping, office buildings, malls, multiplex and mid-rise apartments.

As per today's Dinamalar - The Super specialisty Hospital opening will be delayed due to increasing the cost. The contractor now sought extra amount due to the increase of building materials and the Dean wrote to the concerned authorities for sanction. If only sanctioned on proper time then only the project will thrown to open during Mar-Apr'10.

The report also said the original target date was Apr'09.
The other 4 superspecialisty hospitals approved along with Salem now functining and only Salem contractor dragged it further.

Let us hope it will open Apr'10.

The new building coming up near Gordandas Mandapan opposite to Gandhi Road is a Textile showroom (5 floor building). It is swarna kanda groups one more addition at Salem. The interior works now going on and they will plan to open before the end of Karthigai-Dec-15th. Donno whether it is a mall with showroom is one among like Swarnakanda mall or exclusive textile showroom. Let us wait and see.

Dear Mr.Kannan,

Yes I too heard that belongs to Kandaswarna groups. Better it could be some mall instead of big textile showroom.

The erstwhile ARAS & PVPV showroom opposite to Infant Jesue Church at Omalur Road fully demolished and it is for Sale. A Big board appearing in front of the land indicating "This land is for Sale" The salable land is only the building portion and two third big land behind this land also vacated and now used for college bus parking.

The 4 floored building after Mithila Lodge in Peramanur Road is nearing completion and set to open during 'Thai' month along with Swarna Kandha Complex at Ramakrishna Road. Propably it is a commercial complex.

The Commercial office building (4 floored) at Hastampatti near Truesai works also completed and set to open within a month.

What i heard ? When i was in salem.,
As you all know the Super specialisty Hospital is going to be biggest hospital in south india/ india. It's
going to be play main role for salem economy.

1. Land value of Fort have boomed like anything (2500 Sqft ) near mosque.
2. Overbridge from Thirumani muthar river (Drainage :-)

) to Trichy Main Road. i.e. connecting
from Jaya theater to Kottai Road. ( Already there is one small old bridge)
3. Trichy main road will be extended into ~100/ 200 feet road / one-way. Not clear..,
4. There is no power cut near by Super Speciality Hosp as the construction is in process.
5. There is no further sale in land real estate near this area. As the value is expected to boom once hosp launced. E.g Apsara theater land kept hold for big project.

Guys can anyone list the current land price in salem.
