To add spice to our discussion forum, I would like to open up this crucial topic called the "Best Hotels & Restaurants In Salem". Yep this is crucial since all the Salem people and visitors will find it more useful. So guys please share the hotels that you found good by yourself.. In other words, the hotels in Salem which you would highly recommend to others. Whether it is a star hotel or a small restaurant or even a roadside hotel there will be huge fan standing out in queue for their tastier foods. Letz build that list and make it as an ongoing discussion since the exploration never ends.. We can update it whenever we come across something.

As we all know Salem is famous for its Small kayendhi bhavans. There are lot of famous hotels in and around salem.
Let me add my fav lists when the thread gets more active.

Lemme start it first. Coming with one of my favorite hotel in Salem.

Selvi Mess - (Non Veg)
They have few branches in Salem
1, Opposite to new Bus stand.
2, Near Seelanaikanpatti Roundaana (Towards Attur Road)
3, Old Bus stand (Near Oriental Sakthi Theater)

I used to order Briyani whenever I get chance to go there. They are famous for their Briyani. Its delicious.

I like the food in Sarathy hotel (opp to Town police station) .

They also have branches in various places in city such as,

* Sarathy (opp to Town Police station)
* Salem Cafe (Near to Sarathy)
* Sarathy ( Saradha College Road)
* Sarathy Mittai's (Saradha College Road)
* Sarathy (Omalur Road, K.N Rao)
* Sarathy (Thiruvagoundanoor Bye pass)

Even Saravana Bhavan food is also good. They also have few branches in the city.

* Saravana Bhavan (Opp to Central Bus Terminal)
* Saravana Bhavan Classic (Opp to Central Bus Terminal)
* Saravana Bhavan Chinna Chinna Aasai (VSA Complex, Omalur Road)
* Saravana Cakes & Ice Creams ( Opp to Central Bus Terminal)
* Saravana Bhavan (Near to Woods Valley)

No need to tell anything more about Hot Bhadam Milk in Iyengar Bakeries i guess. . .

So many branches are there in city for this Iyengar Bakeries. Hope this is not only in Salem and also there in various places of Tamilnadu. .

Thatz nice from you Saravanan. All those hotels mentioned by you are pure vegetarians. I need to mention this here as new people may not know it. Do you like anything specifically on those hotels. I mean, what are they special for?
Also Salem Cafe is near women's police station, old bus stand, right?

Thattu Vada set in Road side shops is also famous in Salem.

Even few years back "Kumudam" has written one article about the famous foods of TN cities. In that for Salem they have mentioned this Thattu Vada set is famous for Salem. I don't think so this will be available in other TN cities.

Lakshmi group of Hotels:

Lakshmi hotels are famous for their Sweets. Specially the small round Zilepi's. .

I could see so many times people will be there in queue to buy that. Their speciality is everyday evening they will start preparing some special sweets like Zilepi one day, Halwa next day and so on. But they'll be sold out within a hours of time.

They are also famous for Fruit Juices and Coffee powders. . .

Salem Narasu's Coffee is also famous in all over TN rite?

Specially that Usilaimani's add Besh Besh Romba nalla irukku. . .
