Unnecessary detention of Egmore train bogies at Platform No.3 of Salem Junction.

After introduction of new train from Salem - Chennai Egmore via Atur, the Chennai Egmore - Salem (Train No.1063) reaches around 0600 hours in the morning, the bogies are detained in the Platform No.3 of Salem Jn for the whole day till 2100 hours (i.e.)starting time to Chennai Egmore (Train No.1064), hindering the movements of other Express/Mail/Passenger trains towards Jolarpettai Jn and Erode Jn especially during peak hours from 1700 to 2100 hours. Since, the Salem JN to Vriddhachalam passenger train is also occupying Platform No.2 from 1700 to 1830 hours, all the UP and DOWN trains towards Jolarpettai and Erode are passing through only Platform No.1, resulting belated receipt of trains due to non-availability of Plat form and the commuters/passengers are put into great hardship.

Being Salem, the Divisional headquarters of Salem Railway Division, it is suggested that the DRM, Salem Division, will utilize the vacant platforms at SALEM TOWN STATION OR SALEM MARKET STATION during the day time, till the construction of PF No.4 at Salem Junction.

Suggestion from members are also invited in this regard.

is ther a proposal to Double SA-VRI track?

Though the Salem Rly Dvn formed,
no improvement is seen for front elevation, which should be renovated
as per latest standard.

The right side of the entrance where there is Auto Parking
is looking in dilapidated condition. Is there any proposal at a cost of 10c
proposed by the Rly division in the coming Rly. budget?

Railbudget 2011 is blank for Salem Division.

Any specific fund is allotted in the budget.


Will Salem - Karur GC be completed as scheduled?

In this route existing train running via Erode to South are to be diverted.
Is there any proposal on this?

I have gone through the whole budget.

Nothing is special for Salem.

Kannan Sir,

The EMU train announced between Salem and Katpadi
is not yet come on track.

I heard that only one day the train was in test run and further
the platform on this route has to be raised to accommodate
to relieve the passengers from the train. Hence, it was stopped.
Is it correct.

Nothing will come near future to Salem Division.

for example, even after formation of Division,

bus shelter to the passengers still not provided.

They have to stand with foul smell.

What mockery is - Ticket Checking inspectors,

school children are never bothered about the

unhygienic condition. I have notice that these

people (TCI & Children) are often fall in various

allergic dis order. Oh! what a divisional

administration including City Corporation.

Some work have been commenced by the SR,
adjacent to the entrance of Salem Junction.
The earth work shows that a compound wall
is going to be constructed or else.
I think Pakannan sir is watching.

We will see some improvement for provision
of shelter to the Passengers waiting for
buses.

Now the engine was on track for trail from Salem Jn to Namakkal.

We will expect full pledged trail run in a month or two.

An ROB is coming up in Kondalampatti area.

Is there any proposal to construct a Station
at Kondalampatti which is 4 KMs from Salem Jn.

Neikarapatti which is 3 KMs from SA Jn have a
stop as such Kondalampatti will also have point
to drop passengers which is profitable than Neikarapatti.

Will DRM, Salem look into this and take up the proposal
at the initial stage.

At last the SR taken up action to improve the front elevation of Salem Junction.
A tender has been(for Rs.2 crores) floated for improvement of Salem Junction Railway Station
entrance fixing last date as 04.05.2011.

We have to wait for six more months what will be coming up.

Some digging work is going near the entrance of SA.

Is the existing Salem Junction entrance building be demolished
and in place new building is coming up?

Is any body know the plan, pl.bring it notice of the SJ members,

Now some active works is going on the right side of Salem Railway junction.
Adjacent to the dead end rack some earth work is actively going on besides
at the left entrance massive pillars are being erected. I think it may be
welcome board of Salem Railway division or else. We have to wait for somemore days.

An extension of first floor over the left side of the Salem Junction is progressing.

But it is snail phase.

Let us wait for one more year.

i.e before commissioning of Salem-Karur line.

The construction work is going on in the entrance of Salem Junction
I think the modernisation work of Salem Junction has been commenced.

Is there the station building is to be raised by another floor?

The extension of subway to be considered upto PF 5 besides constructing
ROB from PF 1 connecting PF 2,,3,,4,, & 5.
